Rivista di Scienze Preistoriche – Special Editions

The volume entitled “Italy between the Mediterranean and Europe” by the Italian Institute of Prehistory and Protohistory inaugurates the special numbers series of the “Rivista di Scienze Preistoriche”.
The new series, which maintains the graphics and editorial standards of the original magazine, was designed to publish volumes dedicated to the in-depth study of specific issues by guesting editors and peer-review procedure extended to all contributions.
The intent is to give more space to the many opportunities for thought focused on the themes of prehistoric and protohistoric research in Italy, enhancing the scientific activity of scholars. This will also make possible to dedicate an editorial space responding to current academic evaluation systems. Starting from this volume, the results of the Institute’s Scientific Meetings will also be published in this volume, replacing the series “Studi di Preistoria e Protostoria” which is about to be concluded.

For what concerns the editorial criteria, it was established to safeguard the distinction of the two series, the ordinary and the special ones. The magazine will continue the current numbering with regular frequency and Roman numerals, while the special series will keep the number of the magazine relating to the year of publication, adding a following numbering (S1, S2, S3, …) in continuous internal progression.
It was also decided to adopt a different color for the cover lettering and the insertion of a different logo for every edition. This will be useful to identify the specific special issue.
